Where the Golden Mile actually is
Marbella’s Golden Mile is the commonly used name for the corridor between central Marbella and Puerto Banús. Property characteristics vary significantly depending on the exact micro-location, whether the home is north or south of the main coastal road, its proximity to the beach and the surrounding development.
Marbella Club and Puente Romano are widely recognised landmarks along this corridor, but they do not define every plot around them. Two villas a few hundred metres apart can differ in privacy, garden usability, noise and access. Find Marbella has no relationship with, and no privileged access through, either business.
What to consider when buying a Golden Mile villa
North or south of the coastal road
The position relative to the main coastal road changes the character of a plot: access, outlook, noise and the walking route to the beach are all affected.
Walking versus driving
Some villas sit within an easy walk of the beach and shops. Others are comfortable only by car. Check the actual route on foot rather than the distance on a map.
Plot privacy and exposure
Boundaries, planting maturity, neighbouring build heights and the position of adjacent terraces determine how private the garden really feels.
Road noise and access
Proximity to the coastal road, service roads and junctions affects both noise and how easily you can enter and leave the property at busy times.
Orientation and natural light
Orientation shapes when the garden and terraces are usable, how the interior is lit and how much shade or heat the house takes through the year.
Condition and renovation scope
Established villas may need structural, electrical or layout work. Understand the scope, permissions and realistic timescale before committing.
Garden, pool and upkeep
Mature gardens and pools carry running costs and staffing considerations. Ask what the current owner spends and what is included.
Security arrangements
Arrangements differ between standalone plots and gated developments, from private alarms to shared gatehouse and patrol services.
Community rules
When a villa sits inside a gated development, community statutes and shared charges apply. Read them before assuming what you may build or change.
Independent due diligence
Licences, registry entries, boundaries and building condition must be checked by your own Spanish lawyer and, where relevant, a surveyor or architect.
Find Marbella does not carry out legal or technical inspections and does not verify licensing, tax status or community statutes itself. Those checks belong to your independent advisers.

How Find Marbella helps villa buyers
You send one written brief
Set out the micro-locations you like, your budget, timeline, intended use and the villa priorities you will not trade away.
We ask the agencies and developers we work with
We ask what villa stock is currently available and compare relevant options against your brief. Some properties are shared privately before public advertising, when available and relevant.
You decide what happens next
You receive relevant options or honest market feedback. We introduce you to the estate agency holding a villa only when you agree to it.
Find Marbella is a buyer-side property search service, not an estate agency. It does not own listings, does not represent sellers and does not have access to every property on the market. The service is free for buyers; if a purchase completes after an introduction, the estate agency holding the property pays Find Marbella a referral fee from its commission.
Continue your research
Start with the wider Golden Mile area guide or compare villa stock across the municipality in the Marbella villa guide.
If your brief is defined by a specific feature rather than a property type, see luxury property, beachfront property or sea view property.
For the process itself, see the property finder page and our guide to buying property in Spain as a foreigner.
Tell us about the villa you want
You do not need to know the exact street yet. Tell us the micro-locations you like, your budget, timeline and the plot, privacy and access requirements that matter most.
What happens next
